The calendar has now officially turned to the date when football becomes the focus of gamblers everywhere, and tonight the NFL gets a chance to shine in prime time with the Monday Night Football game between Denver and Green Bay.
The Green Bay Packers had a tumultuous off season with rumors swirling over whether Brett Favre was coming back for another season, or retiring. Favre must have known something when he decided to come back as the Packers have been one of the biggest surprises in the league so far.
The Broncos started the season slowly, but have seemed to correct their problems and again are looking towards competing for the AFC West title. They know that they must win tonights game if they are to continue the momentum they started last week when they beat the Steelers.
Gamblers could have difficulty with this game as the Packers have looked vulnerable the past few weeks, and the Broncos have been inconsistent, one week looking like World beaters, and the next looking terrible.
The Packers can open up their lead in the division with a win after both Chicago and Minnesota both lost on Sunday. The Broncos also must win because the Chargers appear to be playing back at a championship level.
Game time will be moved from 8:00 to 8:30. The game was originally scheduled for 8 to accommodate the World Series, but now that the Series has ended, the game will be moved back to its original start time of 8:30.
